National rad consortium hires erstwhile journalist Proval

Strategic Radiology, the Palmetto, Fla.-based consortium of 25 radiology practices across the U.S., has hired Cheryl Proval, a former editor of Radiology Business Journal and imagingBiz.com, to lead its marketing and communications efforts.

In a press release, Arl Van Moore, MD, Strategic Radiology’s CEO, says the company made the move out of a need for more robust communication with its stakeholders following the eight years it has spent “laying the groundwork for a national infrastructure designed to help private radiology practices thrive.”

Proval says the company “has a great story to tell, one that is important to the future of the specialty.”

Proval had been working for Vox Percipio, a radiology communications firm she founded.

Strategic Radiology represents more than 1,400 radiologists, according to the release.
