A new paper details how a team at the University of California utilized a hybrid system consisting of a quality coordinator and NLP software to bring in more than $60,000 in additional revenue from follow-up imaging alone.

The private equity-backed multispecialty group's failure could have "significant ripple effects" on radiology and other specialties, N. Adam Brown, MD, MBA, wrote recently. 

The accusations pertain to the Amsterdam-based corporation’s sales of diagnostic imaging equipment in China, the SEC announced May 11. 

Between 2020-2021 (and amid the pandemic), interventional consult volumes climbed 13%, while consult-specific payments leapt by 84%, experts detailed.  

The Plantation, Florida, company saw volumes from the modality leap 16.1% on a same-store basis when compared to Q1 of 2022, leaders said. 

Over 40% of radiologists said they’ve been sued during the course of their career, according to new survey data from the American Medical Association. 

The funds will fuel growth initiatives and expansion in other specialties such as pathology, anesthesiology, orthopedics and emergency medicine. 

The move is expected to wipe out the entire investment of KKR, which first took the publicly traded physician group private in a 2018 $5.5B buyout.
