Academy of Radiology Research honors 37 leaders in medical imaging
The Academy of Radiology Research has announced 37 recipients of its 2015 Distinguished Investigator Award. The award recognizes researchers for their accomplishments in the world of medical imaging.
Each recipient is in the top 10 percent of radiology department faculty in the nation, according to the academy. They have all made “significant research contributions” and have been either the first author or senior author of at least 25 peer-reviewed scientific research publications.
Researchers receiving the award include H. Charles Manning, PhD, of Vanderbilt University; Mathew Thakur, PhD, of Thomas Jefferson University; and Rebecca Smith-Bindman, MD, of the University of California, San Francisco.
At this year’s Radiological Society of North America annual meeting in Chicago, each awardee will be inducted into the Distinguished Investigator Council.
“Congratulations to the new members of the Distinguished Investigator Council,” Elizabeth A. Krupinski, PhD, the council’s co-chair, said in a statement.
