Advanced Accelerator Applications keen on board consult from Kapil Dhingra

Kapil Dhingra, MBBS, previously the head of Roche Oncology, has been made a member of the board for radiopharmaceutical developers Advanced Accelerator Applications (AAA), the company announced last week.

The biopharmaceutical company, established in 2002 and based in Saint-Genis-Pouilly, France, works to bring targeted PET and SPECT radiopharmaceuticals to market, including the still-investigational lutetium-177 DOTATATE.

"Dr. Dhingra's guidance and perspective on clinical development, regulatory and commercial strategy will be of tremendous benefit as we advance our pipeline of product candidates and our lead product candidate, Lu-DOTATATE (Lutathera), currently in a pivotal phase III trial for the treatment of gastro-entero-pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors ("GEP-NETs"),” said Stefano Buono, chief executive officer of AAA.

The new AAA board member recently served on the board for the Norwegian company Algeta, developers of the recently approved Xofigo radiotherapy for metastatic prostate cancer in partnership with Bayer. He also brings 25 years of clinical oncology and drug development experience, including his work with Roche, Eli Lilly and Company and the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

"I am delighted to join AAA's Board of Directors,” Dhingra said in a press release. “AAA is a company with great potential. Radiopharmaceuticals represent an important new modality of cancer therapeutics. I look forward to working with the Board to fully leverage the opportunity with Lu-DOTATATE as it advances towards commercialization as well as building the future pipeline."
