The American College of Radiology (ACR) announced this week it is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its National Radiology Data Registry (NRDR).
“For a decade, NRDR has helped facilities improve the quality of care they provide to their patients,” Richard L. Morin, PhD, NRDR chair, said in a prepared statement. “It has also received and compiled data to help improve population health nationwide. This experience can now be used in a forward-looking manner to refine quality measures that promote best practices to make healthcare better, more accessible and more efficient. In this era of value-based care and accelerating healthcare innovation, the ACR and NRDR are proud to help guide radiologists, physicists, technologists, and administrators as they navigate advanced payment models and demonstrate commitment to highest-quality care.”
The NRDR includes numerous databases used to track various radiology quality metrics from six categories. It has been approved as a Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR) for 2018 Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) reporting, marking five straight years it has received this honor. In 2017, according to the ACR statement, the group’s QCDR provided support to more than 5,000 radiologists.
