GE HealthCare launches new platform to streamline remote imaging access

GE HealthCare on Monday announced the launch of its new browser-based remote access platform designed to give radiologists and other clinicians secure access to advanced imaging data and analysis tools from anywhere.

MIM Anyware’s ease of access helps streamline collaboration across imaging and oncology workflows without the need for additional software installation. Instead, it enables authorized users to access MIM software applications through a standard web browser. This allows physicians, medical physicists, dosimetrists and other care team members to review images, perform clinical processing and collaborate on the same case in real time from virtually any location.

GE says the technology is intended to address growing imaging volumes and the demand for remote access. Traditional remote-access solutions often rely on dedicated workstations and extensive IT infrastructure—neither of which are required to access MIM Anyware. The company expects the platform to improve multidisciplinary collaboration, accelerate clinical decision-making and support more efficient workflows.

It is well-suited for cancer care, where treatment planning frequently involves multidisciplinary teams in different locations. The platform supports tumor boards, referrals, consultations and education, and allows organizations to maintain control over imaging data access.

"Remote access platforms like MIM Anyware can help healthcare systems securely share imaging data with external collaborators, making it easier to seek expert input and support multidisciplinary consultation beyond a single organization," Jérémy Godart, a medical physicist at Erasmus Medical Center in the Netherlands, said in a news release. "This can also create educational opportunities for medical students to explore, discuss and learn from real clinical cases."

“By enabling seamless access to imaging data and MIM’s powerful analysis tools directly through a web browser, we’re helping clinicians stay focused on what matters most: patient care,” added J. Anders, general manager, MIM, GE HealthCare.

The announcement also included information on updates to the company's radiation therapy planning portfolio, including enhancements to MIM Maestro and new AI-enabled auto-contouring models in MIM Contour ProtégéAI+ 2.0.
