Daschle to Deliver Keynote at Radiology Leadership Institute Event
On July 25-28, 2013, the ACR Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI) Annual Event will be held at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. This year's keynote presenter is Tom Daschle, the former South Dakota Democratic Senator who was largely responsible for getting President Obama's Affordable Care Act written and through Congress.
Daschle's keynote address will be titled “Getting It Done: What’s Next for Healthcare Reform,” according to an ACR press release.
“This year’s annual event will focus on essential topics such as negotiations, strategic alliances and intrapreneurship. As a political leader with significant health care legislation experience, Senator Daschle has proven himself as an expert in these key areas and we are honored to have him deliver the keynote address at this year’s event,” said Cynthia S. Sherry, MD, FACR, medical director of RLI and chair of the ACR Commission on Leadership and Practice Development, in the press release.
Senator Daschle is one of a very small number of former legislators that have served as both Majority and Minority Leader in the Senate. Currently, he is a senior policy advisor to the law firm DLA Piper. He is also a member of the Health Policy and Management Executive Council at the Harvard School of Public Health and the Global Policy Advisory Council for the Health Worker Migration Initiative.
Additional topics at the annual event will include operations management, leadership and managing teams. To register to attend, one must be enrolled in the RLI.
