Solis Mammography expands into new state with HCA Healthcare joint venture
Solis Mammography has inked a new imaging joint venture with HCA Healthcare, the two announced on Monday.
The Addison, Texas-headquartered breast imaging provider is teaming with America’s largest health system to expand services in South Carolina. It will work with HCA Healthcare’s Trident Hospital, with its breast imaging services now branded under the Solis Mammography name.
This marks the private equity-backed imaging group’s first foray into South Carolina. Solis said the two have plans to further expand into additional HCA facilities across the greater Charleston area, boosting local access to breast imaging services.
“Partnering with Solis Mammography reflects our deep commitment to the women and families who call the Lowcountry home,” Hugh Tappan, MBA, president of HCA Healthcare’s South Atlantic Division, said in a statement Sept. 28. “We want every woman to feel supported and confident in her breast health journey, with access to exceptional care close to home.”
Founded in 1986, Solis now serves women across more than 170 communities nationwide. Charleston marks the company’s 26th major market, with Solis also recently opening another center in Denver via a partnership with HCA HealthONE Rose. The company is supported by Towerbrook Capital, which bought a majority stake in the imaging group last year.
Solis Mammography said its South Carolina locations will include all of bells and whistles seen at other outposts. This includes 3D mammography integrated with AI software and SmartCurve machines designed for greater comfort. Solis also plans to provide other breast imaging services including diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, bone density screenings and biopsies.
“As we enter South Carolina for the first time, we look forward to growing this partnership across additional HCA Healthcare facilities in the market, all while staying focused on what has always guided us—helping women detect breast cancer early, with more comfort and greater peace of mind,” Solis CEO Lisa Ashby, who joined the company in February, said in a statement.
