Whole-body MRI provider Prenuvo ramps up radiologist recruitment

Prenuvo is ramping up radiologist recruitment, with the whole-body MRI startup exhibiting at a key medical imaging conference, sharing insights into its recruiting and hiring practices. 

The Redwood City, California-based corporation announced Monday it is attending the American Osteopathic College of Radiology 2026 Annual Convention, taking place April 27 to 30 in Las Vegas. 

Prenuvo said it is seeking to hire multiple remote radiologists, claiming it’s offering “not just another job” but a “better way to practice.” Founded in 2018, the radiology group charges $2,499 for its core elective MRI exam, offered to healthy individuals seeking to root out asymptomatic diseases. 

“We're excited to be at AOCR this year, connecting with radiologists who are looking for something different,” the company said in an April 27 LinkedIn post. “A lot of radiologists are asking the same question right now: Is there a better way to do this? Between productivity pressure, RVUs and burnout, it's not hard to see why,” the company added later. 

According to its careers page, Prenuvo is currently looking to hire at least two fulltime staff radiologists to work remotely in the U.S. It’s also seeking a third individual in the states to work as a 1099-classified independent contractor, along with a fourth position working as a contractor in Canada. 

In the job post shared on LinkedIn Monday, Prenuvo said it is looking for American Board of Radiology-certified or eligible physicians with strong MRI experience. The individual(s) would work in a fully remote capacity, reporting directly to Alexander Adduci, MD, PhD, MBA, Prenuvo’s associate VP of radiology. The company is touting perks including no nights or weekends, leadership tracks and medical directorship roles, funding for continuing medical education and artificial intelligence tools. 

Prenuvo did not disclose productivity expectations but noted that radiologists are expected to handle whole-body MRIs and other preventive imaging studies, “producing high quality, clinically meaningful reports.” Prenuvo is offering base compensation of $550,000 and quarterly bonuses tied to productivity and quality performance. Radiologists joining the company also are expected to participate in peer reviews, execute quality improvement initiatives, and share urgent or unexpected results promptly.

Prenuvo also touted other benefits of employment, such as weekly team get-togethers to connect, flexible vacation policies, a 401(k) plan, and more.

“We believe in preventative healthcare for everyone, including our team,” the company said in the listing, noting that workers receive free whole-body scans as part of employment. 

The hiring push comes after Prenuvo announced in March it is rolling out a new annual imaging subscription service to help drum up more repeat business. Its core membership charges $1,199 per year and includes a 45-minute “Focused Scan” concentrated between the head and mid-thighs, which also comes with lab panel testing. Prenuvo currently operates 26 clinics in North America, Australia and Europe, with its affiliated radiology group employing over 100 radiologists. 

To date, the company has raised over $120 million in funds and is backed by celebrities including supermodel Cindy Crawford. The business has inspired others such as SimonMed Imaging and Rayus Radiology to enter the whole-body MRI space. Prenuvo also has courted controversy, with the American College of Radiology emphasizing it does not support the whole-body imaging of asymptomatic individuals, noting there is no clinical evidence to support it. Prenuvo, meanwhile, has launched clinical trials seeking to back its marketing claims. 

Financial technology company TipRanks highlighted Prenuvo’s presence at the AOCR show in a news post published Monday. It noted that the call for applicants via a dedicated link indicates “an organized talent acquisition effort aligned with its growth ambitions.” Prenuvo’s focus on burnout and work-life balance in a tight labor market could help attract experienced radiologists, it added. 

“However, the high earning potential and emphasis on advanced imaging also imply a cost structure that will require sustained demand for preventive MRI services to maintain margins,” the investor website noted.
