RADxx accepting nominations for medical imaging informatics awards
Rad Women—a networking group for women in radiology and imaging informatics also known as RADxx or #radxx—is now accepting nominations for its second annual awards program. The initiative began last year as a way of honoring women in the field, along with men and women who have supported career advancement of women in medical imaging informatics.
"Recognizing the contributions of #radxx leaders and the #radxy sponsors who are often critical to their success is so important. If we can celebrate rising stars and role models, then I'm confident we can inspire more women to enter the field of imaging informatics," said Geraldine McGinty MD, MBA, RADxx co-founder and chief strategy and contracting officer of Weill Cornell Medicine Physician Organization.
This year’s awards will recognize four individuals in these categories:
- RADxx Trailblazer: A woman leader in informatics who has been in the field for at least 10 years.
- RADxx Advocate: A man or woman who have helped support and further the advancement of women in imaging informatics.
- RADxx Champion: An individual who has sponsored career development of women in medical imaging informatics.
- RADxx Rising Star: A woman leading the next generation of talent in imaging informatics.
Applications will be accepted through Nov. 10 and evaluated by an executive committee. Winners will be recognized by the RADxx executive committee at a reception during the Radiological Society of North America’s annual conference in Chicago in November.
