The Radiological Society of North America’s 109th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting drew more visitors than last year but still represented a drop from pre-COVID figures.
RSNA 2023, held at Chicago’s McCormick Place Nov. 26 to 30, attracted a total of 40,661 registrants, the society announced Monday. That’s compared to about 38,000 in 2022 yet marks a more than 17% decline from the 2019 annual meeting, which had 49,310 physical attendees.
With a theme of “Leading Through Change,” radiology’s flagship conference featured more than 850 research papers, 1,400 scientific posters and 1,600 educational exhibits.
“The strong attendance numbers for RSNA 2023 are reflective of the desire of radiology professionals to collaborate with colleagues across the globe and the quality of the meeting experience,” RSNA Executive Director Mark G. Watson said in a Dec. 18 announcement from the society.
RSNA 2023’s show floor covered 398,400 while featuring 691 exhibitors. Those included 133 first timers, featuring the latest advancements in CT, MRI, artificial intelligence, and 3D printing, among other things. Recruiters row showcased 40 different hiring entities, offering on-site interviews and career presentations.
Virtual access to RSNA 2023 content will continue until April 30 at noon Central Time, the society said. Meanwhile, RSNA 2024 is set to take place Dec. 1 to 5 in Chicago.
