Solis Mammography expands into Orlando, acquiring private practice and its 2 imaging centers

Solis Mammography is expanding into Orlando, Florida, with the acquisition of two imaging centers.

The private equity-backed, Addison, Texas-based provider group is doing so through the purchase of the Women's Center for Radiology. This marks the 25th major market for Solis Mammography, which now operates over 150 imaging centers, with other Florida locations in Gainesville, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami.

"We're thrilled to enter the Orlando market, which will allow us to serve more patients throughout greater Florida,” Solis CEO Grant Davies said in a Jan. 13 announcement. “With this acquisition, we look forward to providing the same level of personalized care that the women of this community have come to expect.”

Founded in 1986, Solis Mammography bills itself as one of the leading independent providers of breast imaging services in the U.S. The company sold a majority stake to Chicago-based Madison Dearborn Capital Partners in 2018 and has more than tripled in size since through acquisitions and new center openings. The acquired private practice, meanwhile, employs five radiologists and has served central Florida for over 36 years, according to its website

"Women's Center for Radiology is proud to continue our legacy of exceptional healthcare with Solis Mammography," Susan L. Curry, MD, WCR founder and medical director, said in the same announcement.
