RSNA's AI certificate program undergoes 'major update'
The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) has launched an updated version of its artificial intelligence certificate program.
The Foundational Certificate v2.0 is designed to help radiologists evaluate, implement and use AI in imaging. The program recently was the subject of a “major update” that is aimed at helping radiologists’ knowledge of AI evolve as the technology changes. RSNA says the new curriculum “delivers new, practice-ready insights and more actionable takeaways than ever before.”
The on-demand, self-paced program provides radiologists with practical, hands-on training focused on the use AI in real-world clinical practice. Developed by radiologists for radiologists, the curriculum emphasizes clinically relevant skills that participants can apply to evaluating and implementing imaging AI.
The program consists of six modules featuring case-based instruction and hands-on learning led by expert instructors. The training is designed to help radiologists build confidence in assessing AI tools, incorporating them into clinical workflows and using the technology responsibly.
At its core, the program aims to give radiologists and other imaging professionals a foundational understanding of AI; this includes education on different aspects of its development, ethics, data curation and clinical implementation. Participants will learn how to evaluate, safely deploy and monitor AI in medical imaging and better understand how algorithms are developed and integrated into clinical practice.
RSNA said the program is intended to provide radiologists with the knowledge needed to navigate the growing role of AI in medical imaging while making informed decisions about its use in practice. In addition to the Foundational Course, RSNA also offers other AI-based learning modules, including one focusing on AI in emergency triage, one specific to chest AI and another advanced course that delves into model development and data curation.
