Canada's Lakeshore General Hospital opens $2M radiology room
Lakeshore General Hospital in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Canada, has unveiled its brand new $2 million radiology room, taking Kelsey Litwin of the Montreal Gazette on a tour of the facility. The room features brand new x-ray equipment and is outfitted for surgery.
Fadi Aris, MD, the chief of Lakeshore General Hospital’s medical imaging department, said these updates mean patients can receive care right away instead of traveling downtown for imaging exams.
“That will increase collaboration between hospitals, as well as provide better and faster service in the (Lakeshore General) Hospital,” Aris said, as quoted by the Gazette.
Aris also told Litwin that the new equipment exposes patients to less radiation, an obvious win for both patients and the hospital’s technologists.
