Radiology Partners sells 2 imaging centers to New Jersey private practice

Industry giant Radiology Partners is unloading two of its imaging centers to a New Jersey-based private practice.

RP is selling outposts in the communities of Hamilton Township and Lawrenceville, both near the Garden State’s capital city of Trenton, to Princeton Radiology. Both were previously held by Radiology Affiliates Imaging Inc., or RAI, which Rad Partners acquired in 2019, marking its first foray into the Northeast at the time.

Princeton Radiology officially announced the deal on Jan. 9 but did not disclose financial terms. The practice plans to expand services at the new locations soon, including adding elective whole-body MRI scans and additional breast imaging offerings.

"We are excited to add two more locations to Princeton Radiology and, through the resources of our 11 other centers, to provide patients and physicians in the Hamilton and Lawrenceville areas with access to even more imaging options," practice President Jonathan Lebowitz, MD, said in a statement Friday.

Princeton Radiology has been around for 65 years and employs over 30 diagnostic radiologists. The practice previously expanded into Pennsylvania in 2024, launched its whole-body MRI service the same year, and merged with Medical Park Imaging in 2021. Rad Partners, meanwhile, is the largest imaging group in the U.S. with over 4,000 physicians working at 3,400-plus sites in all 50 states.
