Strategic Radiology adds its 50th member practice
Strategic Radiology on Tuesday announced the addition of its 50th member practice, with the coalition now representing over 2,400 radiologists.
Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based Radiology Associates LLC is the latest to join SR, bringing aboard 62 additional physicians. Founded over 70 years ago, Radiology Associates serves hospitals, outpatient centers and referring docs across southern Louisiana.
This marks the fourth independent imaging group to join Strategic Radiology in 2026 following others in Kentucky, Indiana and Wisconsin. Strategic Radiology was first founded in 2009, offering small practices an avenue to collaborate with other independents while avoiding the pitfalls of consolidation.
“Radiology Associates is an outstanding addition to the Strategic Radiology coalition,” Scott Bundy, MD, CEO of Strategic Radiology, said in a statement March 17. “Their deep clinical expertise, long- standing commitment to independent practice, and forward-thinking operational leadership make them a strong strategic fit.”
The new member provides care across all major radiology subspecialities including delivering advanced interventional procedures. Radiology Associates is seen as a “cornerstone of imaging care in Baton Rouge,” SR noted. Clients include Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, the largest hospital in Louisiana, which operates a Level 1 trauma center. Radiology Associates also serves multiple affiliated hospitals and outpatient facilities across the region, delivering around-the-clock diagnostic and interventional care.
Strategic Radiology touted its new member’s national recognition for developing “sophisticated methodologies to optimize physician scheduling.” The practice’s attempts to maximize workforce efficiency have helped Radiology Associates increase capacity, reduce burnout, enhance operational performance and boost physician satisfaction. SR said these insights are now helping to inform improvements at other radiology groups “facing similar workforce pressures.”
